OUR  TEAM

Since 2019 we've have had an exceptional team of freelancers and volunteers working with us from across the arts, media, education and environmental sectors to keep Letters to the Earth as a project alive, thanks to the fiscal hosting of Climate 2025 and The Movements Trust.

In March 2025 we established ourselves as a Community Interest Company and are excited to introduce our directors below and some members of the team.

Kay Michael

CEO & Creative Director

Kay is a theatre-maker, creative producer and facilitator. She is a JMK Directors Award Finalist and recipient of the MGCfutures Bursary and the Arts Council’s DYCP Award for her work as an ecological artist and facilitator.

Kay has worked in various roles to build the environmental movement. As a co-founder of Culture Declares Emergency she’s produced and facilitated Cultural Climate Assemblies for the Roundhouse, Central St Martins and Southbank Centre to support pathways of action. She has produced festivals showcasing hundreds of environmental artists: Extinction Underground across 5 spaces at Vaults Waterloo, and the youth-led Arcadia at Stanley Arts, which imagined a future in harmony with nature.

Kay is a trained facilitator of Joanna Macy's 'Work That Reconnects' and in 2021 she co-produced and curated the first Council of All Beings for global delegates at COP26 in Glasgow with Farhana Yamin and Isabella Noero.

Kay is a Co-Founder of Letters to the Earth, and she co-designs and facilitates all workshops and programmes, leads on creative campaigns and partnerships, is a co-editor of the book and the lead artist of the theatrical adaptation.  She has spoken and presented at the UN Climate Conferences COP26 and COP27, London Climate Action Week and the Net Zero Festival.

"I remember my garden as a five year old: where my storyteller uncle showed me the fairies in the flowers, and where I discovered the skeleton of a young bird. It was all mysterious and magical to me."

Amelia Parisian

Director - Programmes

From corporate boardrooms to community centres, skyscrapers to wild places, Amelia uses design, facilitation, coaching and immersive experiences to change the lives of individuals, strengthen communities, build culture and shift systems. She brings purpose led, Earth-enhancing ideas to life.

As Director of Programmes at the Craigberoch Business Decelerator, she ran retreats and programmes in Scotland, across Europe and online for leaders and teams from organisations including Novartis, Deloitte, and Pernod Ricard.  Previously with Mycelium Group, she trained teams from the BBC and Delta Partners among others, in Mental Resilience and Sustainable Performance. At Edventure Frome, she led startup and community-building programs, supporting over 10 teams to set up social enterprises.

Her greatest passion is nature and her career began in the outdoor industry where she led team building days up mountains, in forests and down fjords in Ireland and South England.

For Letters to the Earth Amelia leads on the design and facilitation of our nature-based programmes and corporate offers and partnerships.

Amelia remembers a summer when the forest at the end of her best friend's garden flooded. "We made a boat out of an old bathtub and paddled around for days between the submerged trees."
