LTTE Estuary Festival 2 - Will Lepper (1
EMPOWER
YOUNG  PEOPLE  AND  CHILDREN

Our educational programmes support young people in exploring the climate and nature emergency through creative, cross-curricular activities that:

  • Cultivate a love of nature

  • Educate on the current climate and nature crisis

  • Support 'eco well-being' and mental health

  • Inspire and uplift ideas for action

Our resources are flexible and can be used by teachers, parents/caregivers and young people, both at home and in school for the following:

  • School assemblies

  • Form sessions

  • Outdoor learning

  • Subject lessons such as English, PSHE, RE, Geography, or Art

  • Align with eco awards and sustainability goals

  • Earth Day and similar events

Our activities promote literacy, creative expression, and values such as courageous advocacy and democracy, encouraging young people to reflect, connect with each other and nature, and take action for a liveable planet.

We encourage you to amplify the letters your young people write in whatever way you can for their wider impact, and you can partner with us in the creation of your own Letters to the Earth books to keep.

If you're looking for ways to engage young people in creative and nature-based responses to the climate crisis and to build their confidence as advocates for action, then click on the below toolkits for your use.

Email us at education@letterstotheearth.com so we can connect on your activity, or to book one of our facilitators and explore working together.

Our resources won the Global Dimensions Teachers Choice Award 2022described by the network of 17K teachers as 'deeply moving and motivating' and 'original, powerful and simple'.

We've run our creative programmes for young people at the Estuary Festival, for the Devon Wildlife Trust, in collaboration with The World's Largest Lesson, the Primary Science Teachers Trust, Central St Martins University of the Arts, CEMUS University Sweden, for emerging artists at the Roundhouse, secondary school students at the Southbank Centre's 'Reframe', and at the Reading is Magic Festival.

Want to partner with us to distribute our resources and engage more young people in our programmes? Write to us at education@letterstotheearth.com

‘A great project to be involved in. Inspired children to discuss big issues and to look at the ways they can help. They love looking at the book when they can’
